/ Overview

Popa Bears Wholesale is a Montreal supplier of automotive, agricultural and industrial equipment, in business since 2007. Its store sells heavy, bulky products to businesses across Canada, with a bear mascot that runs through the whole brand.

/ The challenge

Heavy equipment doesn't ship in a box. Every order needs a freight price that depends on weight, destination and carrier, and some customers would rather pick up from a warehouse or talk to someone before paying.

The team also needed to run pages, articles, reviews and their Google Shopping data themselves, without waiting on a developer for every change.

/ What we built

  • Built on the Value Industrial foundation

The storefront started from our Value Industrial build, so Popa Bears launched with proven equipment-store patterns under its own brand.

  • Freight priced at checkout

Custom Medusa fulfilment providers price LTL freight through Freightcom and tilt-tray delivery while the customer checks out.

  • Pickup and call-back options

Customers can pick up from a warehouse, or ask the team to call them to arrange delivery before paying.

  • Store picker and address lookup

Warehouses managed in Strapi feed a store picker in the header, with Google address autocomplete for deliveries.

  • Financing for big orders

Stripe card payments, with Affirm financing shown on product pages.

  • Content the team can run

Strapi manages pages, blogs, reviews, Q&A, menus, SEO and Google Merchant Center data.

  • Accounts and email

Google sign-in for customers and staff, and branded order emails built with Maizzle and sent through SendGrid.
